Practical Book for GCSE students
Animal Behaviour: Practical Work and Data Response Exercises at GCSE, by Michael Dockery and Michael Reiss, is aimed at pupils studying GCSE Biology, Psychology or Science. In addition to suggestions for practical work and data response exercises, it contains sections on describing and measuring behaviour, on the practicalities of using animals in schools, on safety and legislation and on ethical issues surrounding the use of live animals in schools.

Practical Book for A-Level students
Animal Behaviour: Practical Work and Data Response Exercises for Sixth Form Students by Michael Reiss and Michael Dockery has been designed to meet the requirements of teachers of A-Level Biology, Human Biology, Social Biology and Psychology. It consists of practicals, suggestions for projects and data response exercises, together with sections on carrying out observational and experimental studies, the statistical treatment of data, useful references and suppliers of livestock and equipment.

Observational studies of animals in zoos - the ringtailed lemur
This pack is the first resource to be produced by the latest ASAB education initiative, viz. ASAB Grants for Teacher Researchers. The resource consists of: background information on ringtailed lemurs; suggestions for gathering data, plus recording sheets for students; suggestions for representing and analysing the data; and suggestions for linking the findings to previous research. There will also be two optional extras available, on loan, from the Education Officer, viz. a 10 minute video which illustrates some typical ringtailed lemur behaviours and a set of research articles from relevant journals.

Books for 10-16 year old students
Two books suitable for the 10-16 year age range, have been produced by the ASAB education project in collaboration with teachers and researchers in Iceland. They have been written, and translated into English, by Hrefna Sigurjónsdóttir and Sólrún Hardardóttir.
Birds outlines the basic characteristics of this group of organisms and then focuses on wildfowl, and mallard in particular. It includes some experimental work.

Spiders covers distribution, body plan, ecdysis, web making, feeding behaviour, and aspects of the courtship, reproductive and parental behaviour of spiders. It has a strong practical component. Each copy is accompanied by a set of teaching notes.
